Let’s chat about self esteem and sobriety – and why it’s so important. Life doesn’t automatically just get easy when you quit drinking. Uncomfortable emotions still crop up from time to time, and one of the best things we can do is develop the skills to move through those emotions in a healthy way. One of the emotions that throws people for a loop is insecurity, so that’s what we’re gonna tackle today.
In this episode, we’ve invited sober influencer Azure, sober podcaster Brianna, and sober influencer Ginelle to come share with us how they’ve dealt with insecurity, and what they’ve done to increase their self esteem since they stopped drinking. If we can learn healthy ways to step out of insecurity and into confidence, we’ll be able to handle life that much better. Stay tuned for some great insight and some helpful tips that you’ll be able to use the next time insecurity gets the best of you.

Azure takes part in the sober community via her Instagram @sober.chronicles, where she talks about all sides of sobriety – the good, the bad, and the ugly. She is working towards becoming a sober coach by the end of 2024.
Azure lives in the PNW with her husband, 2 kids, and goldendoodle. She is a hospice nurse, and spends as much free time as she can outdoors. She loves to cook, sing, and hopes to start playing piano again in the future.
Confronted with the challenges of substance abuse from a young age, Brianna embarked on a tumultuous journey. This path was fraught with difficulties, yet it was underscored by her unwavering strength as she balanced the demands of motherhood while navigating her personal struggles.
A turning point arrived in February of 2020, when Brianna wholeheartedly embraced sobriety after over two decades of battling addiction. This was the beginning of a new chapter where she would extend her hand to others in similar plights.
In her current role as an advocate for recovery and mental health, Brianna contributions are multifaceted. She is particularly dedicated to assisting individuals who are on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). She focuses on helping them transition off of MAT offering guidance and support drawn from her own experiences and knowledge.
Ginelle Testa is an upcoming author who’s been sober for over ten years. She got sober when she was 21. Her book is about addiction recovery and is titled “Make a Home Out of You: A Memoir.” It’s the idea that she made homes in people and substances instead of in herself, learning finally to make a home in herself.
