Discovering your identity after addiction is an adventure all in itself. One of the most common things we hear people say in coversations about recovery is, “I quite drinking and I didn’t even know who I was!” Join us as we have a great conversation with sober comedian Trevor Keveloh, talk show host Marci Hopkins, and sober influencer Matt Shambo about how we’ve found our authentic selves now that we’re sober.
“I had this persona that I created. I was too scared to uncover who I really was.”
Some of the concepts you’ll hear about in this episode include:
- Discovering what you really enjoy
- Letting down walls to allow for connection
- “Masking” and how it hinders authenticity
- Not allowing others to define you
- Exploring hobbies and finding your unique style
- Finding your purpose
- The difference between sobriety and recovery
- Releasing insecurity to thrive as your true self
“Being a person of value is more important than being a person of success.”
